About The Old Farts Club of America™

The Old Farts Club of America™ was founded in 1995 by E. Phineas Farquhar. At the time, E. Phineas had just reached one of those milestone ages that got him thinking and poking fun at himself. “I’ve officially turned into an old fart,” he thought aloud on that birthday occasion. “Welcome to the club,” a friend replied.
Thus, the idea was born.

In that same year, E. Phineas decided to make the Club official. The Old Farts Club of America™ was launched in 1995 with an idea of spreading a bit of cheeky amusement among a community of like individuals who can enjoy a laugh. The Club’s slogan is “For the young at heart.”

Membership grew slowly at first, especially with the internet being in its nascent development and reluctance among some newspapers to accept advertisements. Over time, membership grew from coast to coast, with even a few international individuals wanting to join. Quickly becoming overwhelmed with his one-man club organization, barely meeting costs of the membership kit, and still having a demanding day job, E. Phineas Farquhar quietly stopped advertising and allowed the club to go dormant.

Now, the next generation is ready to resume the founder’s dream: joyful laughter and merry celebration of the prodigious manner and prolific conduct of official old farts. Recently, J.J. Bradley Farquhar revived the inactive club, has undertaken to secure the proper trademarks and copyrights, and developed a new launch. The ideals remain the same: a joyful tweak at like-minded individuals with an irascible manner willing to share a laugh.

Oh yes, E. Phineas Farquhar is still around, cantankerous as ever, and still president of the club.
